Empower Success Corps Receives $125,000 Barr Foundation Grant to Continue ESC Catalyst Program Empower Success Corps (ESC) is pleased to announce a $125,000 grant from the Barr Foundation to support the continuation and expansion of the ESC Catalyst program over the next two years. ESC Catalyst, a fellowship program for mid-career professionals of color, provides tools, training, and mentorship to strengthen participants’ management, planning, and consulting skills. With this generous funding, ESC will welcome a third cohort of Catalyst Fellows, continuing the program’s impactful work of building diverse nonprofit leadership. “ESC Catalyst has become a cornerstone of our mission to support a diverse and thriving nonprofit sector,” said Julie Crockford, President of ESC. “This funding from the Barr Foundation enables us to continue empowering talented professionals who will, in turn, drive lasting impact in their communities.” The Barr Foundation’s support underscores its commitment to strengthening the ecosystem of leaders, organizations, networks, and connections that enable nonprofits to thrive and sustainably achieve their missions. The two-year grant allows ESC to extend Catalyst’s reach, helping more participants access critical professional development and an invaluable network of peers and mentors. “We’ve heard directly from our nonprofit partners about how crucial it is to have consultants with shared lived experience, identity, and values. The Catalyst program helps ensure that more nonprofits in our region have access to talented partners that can help them advance their missions and thrive, as people and organizations,” said Rory Neuner, Senior Learning Officer at the Barr Foundation. Applications for the next Catalyst cohort are open, with submissions due by Wednesday, November 27, 2024. For more details and to apply, visit ESC’s website at https://lnkd.in/eWv9p3N5 or contact Andrew Spooner, Director of ESC Catalyst. About the Barr Foundation: The Barr Foundation is a private, Boston-based foundation with core programs in Arts & Creativity, Climate, and Education.

"It can be lonely at the top." Being a nonprofit executive can feel isolating. Often, there’s no one within the organization to discuss sensitive issues or challenging situations. The ESC Nonprofit Executive RoundTable (NET) fills this support gap, providing a confidential forum for executive directors, CEOs, and presidents to share challenges and receive real-time, constructive feedback from knowledgeable, connected leaders who understand the unique challenges of the role. Meeting remotely via Zoom once a month for nine months, this facilitated roundtable fosters a community of peers, encouraging nonprofit leaders to freely share concerns and receive support from those with similar experiences. The discussion topics are driven by the group's interests. For more information or to sign up for the fall 2024 session, visit https://lnkd.in/eR_pJkT or contact Julie Crockford, ESC’s president, at [email protected]. #nonprofit #leaders

Looking for a little "executive director therapy?" ESC’s Nonprofit Executive RoundTable (NET) is now registering participants for the fall 2024 cohort. NET offers a confidential forum for nonprofit executives to share challenges and receive constructive feedback from experienced leaders who understand the unique demands of the role. Meeting remotely via Zoom once a month for nine months, this facilitated roundtable fosters a community of peers, encouraging nonprofit leaders to freely share concerns and receive support from those with similar experiences. The discussion topics are driven by the group's interests. The upcoming cohort, starting in September/October 2024, will be co-facilitated by Sue Heilman and ESC President, Julie Crockford. Sue is a seasoned nonprofit leader with over 25 years of experience growing and leading mission-based organizations, including Horizons for Homeless Children, MassEquality, and the Hull Lifesaving Museum. She has also worked on ESC consulting projects for various organizations such as Steps to Success Brookline and the Victim Rights Law Center. Julie, who oversees all aspects of ESC including strategic direction and program development, previously served as president of the Emerald Necklace Conservancy, where she experienced firsthand the transformative impact of ESC’s consulting services. She has participated in and advised most NET cohorts. The group is limited to ten participants, so interested applicants should reserve their spots now.
