On Thursday, March 27, Erland team members Atiya Rahim, Julia Floramo, and Nancy Martin attended Wentworth Institute of Technology's 18th Annual Women@Wentworth breakfast, Gaining STEAM: Empowering Women for Success. It was an inspirational morning celebrating the achievements of past and present student leaders and the accomplishments of females who are studying and working in STEAM industries. Congratulations to Farah Naz, FCIBSE, class of 2002, an award-winning Climate Change Strategist, and this year’s Woman of the Year Award recipient. We look forward to seeing what the future holds as women continue breaking industry barriers.

#ThrowbackThursday to our Campus Center Addition project at Cotting School, a private non-profit school that provides an array of integrated services for students with special needs. Partnering with ARC/ Architectural Resources Cambridge, we built this 25,000sf, 2-story facility that houses a regulation-size gym, bowling alley, rock-climbing wall, and more, all while meticulously mitigating any disruption to the school’s ongoing operations. #BuildingsStandWithErland #SiteHighlight

On Wednesday, Erland’s Mitch Beyer, Jake Byrne, Mike Damigella, and Tim Lynch laced up their skates as the returning champs for the SIOR New England Chapter Annual Hockey Tournament at Warrior Ice Arena. Cheered on by team members, friends, and family, they played several round-robin style games of 3v3, but unfortunately were unable to secure back-to-back titles. Congratulations to Marcus & Millichap New England for being crowned this year’s winner. We’re already strategizing how to bring the cup back home next year.

#ThrowbackThursday to our senior living project, Sunrise of Newton! In partnership with PWC Companies and JSA Design, we built a 101,000 SF assisted living and memory care facility in Newton Corner for Sunrise Senior Living. Designed to accommodate up to 108 residents in 85 suites, the community features custom finishes that create a warm, homelike environment, along with amenities such as an exercise room, salon, and bistro. Thank you to Chestnut Hill Realty for allowing us to celebrate Women in Construction Week with a special luncheon and tour at The Franklin, our recently completed multifamily residential building in Brookline. After enjoying lunch in one of the amenity spaces, Mary Leahy, Erland’s Senior Project Manager, who led the project, guided our female employees on a tour showcasing the teamwork and craftsmanship that brought The Franklin to life. We also want to recognize the contributions of everyone involved, including the talented women of Chestnut Hill Realty and The Architectural Team, whose expertise was instrumental in the success of this project. Their dedication is shaping the future of our industry, and we’re proud to celebrate them!

Yesterday, we wrapped up Women In Construction Week with an appreciation lunch for the female employees of Erland Construction at Smith & Wolensky in Burlington.
