关于我们
ERIE21 is a bold, visionary initiative designed to address the region’s twin problems of persistently high poverty in Syracuse and the inability of employers to attract and retain the skilled workers needed to fill current job openings as well as those resulting from the looming exodus of baby boomers from the workforce. Serving as both a comprehensive and a long-term strategy, ERIE21 delivers early intervention (in the middle school grades) and provides ongoing support to students in high school and college to strengthen the region’s capacity to develop a pipeline that can generate homegrown talent to feed the growing demand for computational, software and engineering talent.

Congrats Amanda Delaney, M.A.! The ERIE21 team could not be more proud of you. We watch day in and day out as you embody this award. Well deserved recognition.
It was such an honor to be recognized as one of Central New York Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 recipients. I am incredibly grateful to those who were there to celebrate in person and in spirit— I wouldn’t be who I am today without your love and influence. Special shoutout to Jill Allen and her team, including my dear friends and colleagues from M&T Bank (Alissa Viti & Stephen Gorczynski), and many others for making this celebration possible. And of course, Congratulations to my fellow award recipients! ??

Happy Wednesday All, we hope you are staying warm out there (especially if you're in and around CNY). What warms us at ERIE21 is seeing our learners succeed so we were thrilled to see two of our Young Adult (Lock 3) learners be featured in Le Moyne's Career Advising and Development office post. Ella Nixon and Vincent Arlequin are a few of our exceptional students and we can't wait to continue to see them grow. And a shout out to the Career Advising and Development team for serving our students and posting highlights of their journeys. Happy Election Day ERIE21 friends. Last night our Young Adult program spent some time with our Equitable partners, Toastmaster Nanci Jacobs. She spent time talking to our students about the importance of practiced public speaking for talking to large groups, small groups, and individuals. Following that up with some table talk topics focused on tech and innovation topics. Students like Kyle Creighton, Thomas Kapinus, Elisa Hoffmann, Vincent Arlequin, Krishan Badrie, Emilia Muradova, Luciano Guarino, Peter Gallagher, Julie D., Belal Aly, and all of the others who took the leap and made an impromptu speech to present to your peers. A special thank you to Stephanie Joncas from Equitable who helped make the connection with Nanci. #WeRiseTogether

Happy Monday All, This Sunday ERIE21's Young Adult (Lock 3) program was able to meet and greet potential incoming students at Le Moyne College's final Open House for the fall semester. Iggy was out in full force and donned an ERIE21 sticker to represent us for the day. If you weren't able to brave the crisp fall air or know someone who couldn't make it but are still interested in what ERIE21 has to offer please contact us at [email protected] or visit our website (linked below). Just because the Open Houses have passed doesn't mean we're done talking about our great program! https://lnkd.in/gh-bssh2 #WeRiseTogether

Happy Friday all. Yesterday we highlighted some the exciting things ERIE21s Adult (Lock 4) Program has been up to. Today we are all about our Youth Program kicking off their Tech Saturday series last week. This past Saturday, our Youth Programs hosted the first?Tech Saturday of the?school year in collaboration with Le Moyne's STEP program. Special thank you to the?The Keenan Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Creativity?for leading a fun, hands-on?session?introducing high school students to the Arduino microcontroller board, sensors, LEDs, and switches. Students were able to bring home their?multifaceted electronic project, which includes a selection?of games and the option to have a sound activated LED light strip. Our middle school students participated in interactive?and social STEM activities?like building their own catapults, creating a human coding?maze, and exploring their favorite STEM websites during free play in the ERIE21 computer lab. Some of the websites include Scratch, Python, etc. We had a wonderful experience planning and collaborating with?Mu Lah H.?and the STEP students and look forward to collaborating again in the near future. Special shout out to?Jemima Bobelabi '26?(ERIE21) &?Sara Fnu '28?(CSTEP) for giving our high school students insight about life as Le Moyne College student and for providing students with honest feedback?about transition from high school to college. Our Youth Program Tech Saturday's run monthly through May, so stayed tuned for more exciting updates! Shuave Jackson, M.S.Ed., Nauj brady #TechSaturday #WeRiseTogether

Good Afternoon All, ERIE21's Adult program has been busy with the ERIE21 Google IT Support Professional Certificate program lately and, we wanted to share a highlight and our gratitude for the partners helping on this journey. Many thanks to our partner Excellus BCBS Jason Helsdon, for connecting our ERIE21 Google IT Support Professional Certificate program to Marie Donaldson, Manager of ERP Support Center at Excellus BCBS. Marie manages a team who regularly exercise active listening, compassion and a high degree of self-care in a fast-paced, technical environment serving thousands of Excellus employees. Marie's leadership of self and focus on how to best relate to others and be smart, kind and yet insightful is inspirational.?Her personal work toolkit includes technical skills, "soft" or power skills and a large plan for self-care. Self-awareness, assuming the best intent, setting boundaries and more were just some of the incredible messages she shared. Thank you, Marie! Najwa Webster, Yahkeef Davis, Lisa Melara #WeRiseTogether
