Scholarships are available for a wide array of studies, and are based on merit, financial need, sports, a field of study, and community involvement. Each year since 2001, 14 high school Juniors and Seniors from local high schools have held YAC seats. In that time, YAC has granted over $150,000 to 80 nonprofits. YAC grants address needs including Arts & Humanities, Community Development, Education, Environment, Health & Social Services and Youth Services. College undergrads, recent grads, and grad students can apply to intern for 10 weeks with an Erie County nonprofit or governmental agency, May/June through August. Past ECCF grant recipients host the interns, who earn $15/hr; 40 hrs/wk. Finalists will be selected by March 1 and notified by phone if selected to interview.
