When we asked Tom what inspired him to join Ergatta, his response was: "I loved that Ergatta uses games to try to actively improve players’ lives and health. I have been a gamer my entire life, but because of that, I also know the potential negative effects of a gaming lifestyle. Gaming can encourage a sedentary lifestyle, and at its worst, can sometimes encourage isolation and addiction. However, Ergatta takes some of the things I love about gaming (the rewards, the feeling of steady progress, the community) and uses those elements to encourage its players to become healthier and more active. In a world of push notifications and algorithms that prey on the mental health of their users, this dedication to self-improvement is a rare quality."

The Ergatta team celebrated the holidays together last week, with our remote colleagues joining us here in New York for two days of annual planning, team-building, and end of year festivities. We also had the chance to celebrate our most recent Checkered Flag Award recipients, Matt Edzenga and Colin Godsey. The Checkered Flag recognizes the efforts of team members who go above and beyond to live by the Ergatta values, and Matt and Colin have truly embodied that spirit of dedication throughout this past quarter. We’re grateful to have ended a fantastic year at Ergatta with the whole team together, and we’re looking forward to another exciting year ahead!
