PJM’s Corporate Communications team was glad to welcome our counterparts from the grid operators across the continent Wednesday for the annual meeting of the ISO/RTO Council’s Communications Committee. By sharing innovative ideas, real-world best practices and lessons learned from major events, IRC members work together to build a smarter and more efficient electric grid that’s well-prepared to serve the North American power market and its consumers. In addition to PJM, the IRC is made up of AESO, California ISO, ERCOT, Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), ISO New England Inc., Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), NYISO and Southwest Power Pool.

ERCOT’s mobile app was redesigned to empower users with easy access to transparent, reliable, and real-time information on ERCOT grid conditions and operations. The enhancements include improved navigation, additional interactive dashboards, a customizable home screen, and more. Current ERCOT mobile app users need to update to the latest version when prompted by their device. Available for download in the Apple Store and on Google Play.

Did you know? In 1999, the Texas Legislature restructured the Texas electric market and assigned ERCOT four primary responsibilities:

ERCOT has released its Monthly Outlook for Resource Adequacy (MORA) report for December 2024. This report accounts for the likelihood of severe winter weather during the month. There is a slight risk of ERCOT issuing an Energy Emergency Alert during the early evening hours when solar generation ramps down. Winter storm events move the risk to the morning hours. Demand Response capabilities that provide additional generation to support grid reliability as needed, are not included in this report. Under normal conditions, ERCOT anticipates there will be sufficient generation to meet customer demand.?bit.ly/4eui4MH
