Fully Funded M.S. Research Assistantships in Aerospace Engineering We are pleased to announce a fully funded (tuition + stipend) accelerated M.S. position in the Aerospace Engineering Department with a start date in Fall 2025. Our interdisciplinary research focuses on advancing additive manufacturing technologies for high-performance composite materials, with applications spanning aerospace, automotive, electronics, and biomedical industries. We encourage highly motivated applicants with a GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and a background in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing, or electrical engineering, to apply. The position is open to all undergraduate students, regardless of major. Flight Delay Analyst: Desired background: Flight Delay Intern who will support KnowDelay’s flight delay broadcasting and presence across social media sites and KnowDelay website Intern has basic familiarity with flight delays and the FAA’s Operational Information System (OIS) and National Airspace System Status (NASS) pages Intern should be familiar with social media posts from airports and other entities that broadcast real-time flight delays Intern has a meaningful social media fluency Intern is able to quickly structure, design and post messages Intern must have excellent writing and communication skills Brief job description: At the end of each business day -- and once or perhaps twice over the weekend – the intern will visit the OIS website to retrieve a summary of the day’s flight delays by airport, duration and cause Intern will then visit the KnowDelay “admin” page to understand when KnowDelay predicted the delay, and how many hours in advance On the KnowDelay website and across major social media outlets, the intern will then summarize the delays and KnowDelay’s predictions On the KnowDelay website this is a separate element of the “Resources” pages Across social media, the objective is to post KnowDelay’s “success” on the affected airport’s pages Using the predictive “alert” element of the KnowDelay admin site, the intern will understand what lengthy delays the site is predicting over the next 24 – 48 hours Intern then visits the social media sites for the potentially impacted airports and creates a post alerting visitors that the airport could be impacted by a delay For successful predictive posts, intern will create a secondary post that KnowDelay “called it” Social Media Intern: Desired background: Social Media intern who will support KnowDelay’s social media presence Intern is familiar with messaging and “posts” from airlines, particularly related to delays and weather delays more specifically Intern should be familiar with similar posts from airports and other third-parties including entities that may predict flight delays Intern has a meaningful social media “presence” Intern is able to quickly structure, design and post messages Intern must have excellent writing and communication skills Social media platforms we’re most interested in are X, Facebook and LinkedIn Brief job description: Approximately four times per week, create posts attracting social media visitors to the KnowDelay website Create awareness of the impact of a flight delay – missed weddings, cruises, etc. – create a bit of “fear” around a flight delay Re-broadcast flight delay related posts Reference articles and media that discuss flight delays #erau #eraudb #eraudaytona #embryriddle #embryriddleaeronauticaluniversity #embryriddledaytona #research #undergradresearch #knowdelay #jobopportunities #jobopportunity
