After becoming permanently laid off as a Tool & Die Operator, Timothy sought the assistance of the Workforce Solutions North Texas team to gain the necessary education and training to get back into the workforce. Considering a career change for some time, the layoff provided the opportunity to achieve his lifelong goal of becoming a clinical and counseling psychologist. Now a Behavioral Technician for a local school district, he plans to enroll in a Masters program to further his education and increase his knowledge to gain more experience. “The opportunities given have not only advanced my professional journey but have also empowered me to achieve personal growth. Ramey Job Corps Center student, Axl, completed 2,000 hours of field work and 198 hours of education time with?West, LLC Construction Academy’s Registered Apprenticeship program to become a Handyman Apprentice. Axl is the first Ramey Job Corps student to complete this apprenticeship program with high honors, an achievement he and the Center’s team are very proud of. “Axl has demonstrated commitment and perseverance without forgetting the discipline and responsibility that his mentors instilled in him,” remarked a Center team member. A single mother with the dream of obtaining a career to support her family, Cecelia began working with the PA CareerLink? Lackawanna County Youth program team to obtain her GED and gain work experience. Diligent in pursuit of her education, she also started a new job as an Activity Leader at the local Boys and Girls Club and upon completion of her GED, enrolled in a certification program at NEPA Dental Assisting School. With support of family, friends, and the program team, Cecelia has been attending job fairs and community events as an ambassador for the Dental Assisting program and is scheduled to graduate in April of 2025.
