On Friday, October 11th, Dr. Anderson provided the keynote address for the South Jersey Institute for Population Health (SJIPH) 2024 Impact Report Event, emphasizing the core values of the Center for Health Equity & Wellbeing. Dr. Anderson highlighted the importance of inclusive and intentional community engagement, advocating for the principle: "We are inclusive and intentional about community engagement and empowerment through power sharing. Not About Us, Without Us and For the People by the People." We are thrilled to share a moment from the event featuring Dr. Anderson alongside two esteemed members of the Center for Health Equity & Wellbeing Board of Trustees: Dr. Nicole Vaughn, Co-Founder of SJIPH and Associate Professor at Rowan University, and Victor Murray, Senior Director of Community Engagement and Capacity Building at Camden Coalition. We are pleased to share that the Center of Health Equity & Wellbeing has appointed Dr. Denise Anderson, Ph.D., MPH the first Executive Director of the Public Health Institute. Dr. Anderson brings extensive experience in public health, having led initiatives in areas including HIV, STIs, tuberculosis, birth defects, chronic illnesses, maternal and child health, and COVID-19. Her extensive background also encompasses workforce development, transitional housing, behavioral health, and youth services.
