Congratulations to our Junior Design Engineer, Dylan Betts, who last week won the prestigious Kenneth Lightfoot Medal, awarded by the Institute of Refrigeration UK. Dylan, a key member of our Carbon Shift team, is now the youngest recipient of this award since its inception in 1945! His award-winning paper explores the Swaffham Prior Rural Heat Network, an Equans project pioneering a first-of-its-kind low-carbon heating solution for an off-gas village. Voted for by IOR members, this award recognises the best technical paper of the year, celebrating innovation and excellence in refrigeration and heat pump technology. Dylan represents the next generation of technical experts, and we’re proud to support a talented community of colleagues who are making the transition to a more sustainable future a reality. It's National Careers Week! ? This week is a fantastic opportunity for individuals and organisations to come together to champion career development, with a particular focus on careers guidance activity at key stages in the academic calendar. ? Whether it's an apprenticeship, mentorship, or workshops that provide an overview of what different industries are like to help make that initial decision - it's important that young people are aware of the options available to them. ? Our regional social value teams?work?in education settings across the UK to deliver our pre-employment support offering, and we?have a range of activities happening throughout National Careers Week including events, taster days, and mentoring sessions. ? We’re committed to helping our customers navigate the journey to net zero, but we also recognise that real change starts from within. That’s why we’re equipping our people with the knowledge and tools to drive sustainable action in their everyday roles. One of the ways we’re doing this is through Climate, Circular Economy and Biodiversity Fresk workshops - engaging, collaborative and participatory sessions based on the scientific findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The workshops help employees explore the causes and effects of climate change, examine the limits of the linear production-consumption system and discover?the systemic aspects of biodiversity, making complex science accessible and inspiring real-world action. Over 800 participants have taken part in these workshops so far, and we're aiming to surpass 1,000 by the end of the year - strengthening climate awareness across our business. #ClimateAction #ClimateFresk #CircularEconomyFresk #BiodiversityFresk

Since the beginning of 2024, we have been working in partnership with IWFM | Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management to empower Workplace and Facilities Managers (WFMs) to drive sustainability within their organisations and across the built environment. We are proud of what we have achieved, having delivered sustainability insights, thought leadership, and actionable strategies through the IWFM Sustainability Survey 2024 Report, expert-led webinars, and practical sustainability guidance.
