At Equals, we don't just track DAUs or WAUs—we focus on A3×7. What's A3×7? It tracks users returning to your product 3 or more times a week. Why does it matter? Because it's a higher bar for engagement: less spiky, higher signal-to-noise ratio, and tougher to game. You can spike WAUs with a newsletter, but you can't fake consistent, meaningful engagement. Is your CRM reporting one-dimensional? You can see a perfect snapshot of where your sales pipeline stands today but have no context on how you got there or what the future might look like. Sound familiar? Good news: You can unlock its power by shifting from static snapshots to a deal-based lifecycle view. This enables you to: ? Track week-over-week pipeline changes ? Gauge intra-month pacing ? Spot shifts in conversion rates ? Understand deal velocity & bottlenecks Today, Chris Burgner breaks down how we made this shift at Equals—and how we're helping our customers do the same: https://lnkd.in/ekQpZ-Rt

Intercom was one of the first to ride the PLG wave with a viral, self-serve flywheel. But when it came time for their Series C, they faced a new challenge: They needed a new strategy to land larger, more complex customers. Enter Kevin Kooi, who joined in 2016 to build out the FP&A function. His top priority: Build sales efficiency reporting to reveal how GTM investments translated into future returns—empowering the team to scale their new sales motion sustainably. Curious how he did it? Today we’re revisiting his original model, line-by-line ?? https://lnkd.in/eSg4dPQU

A year ago, we killed Equals' free plan. And then we turned off self-serve. Since then, our thinking has evolved. Turns out, the real issue was expecting users to find value on their own. We went back to basics: manually onboarding every customer and digging deep in to their needs. Now, we're exploring reintroducing self-serve, this time with an offering that provides a path to immediate value. Sometimes, doing things that don't scale is exactly what you need to scale. What’s in a cohort? The way you view your cohorts can reveal crucial insights about the dynamics of churn and expansion across the customer lifecycle. A left-justified view lines up cohorts based on their subscription start date and month since acquisition, making it easy to compare cohorts at a given stage in their lifecycle. A right-justified view aligns customers based on calendar month rather than start date. This allows you to quickly diagnose changes that happened at a single point in time, but that impact all cohorts, like pricing changes, feature launches, and market changes. Sales is confident they're crushing targets, while Finance isn't seeing the numbers add up. Who's right? They both are. And that's because both teams see performance differently. Sales tracks bookings (contracts signed), while Finance measures billings (invoices generated). Rather than wait until the end of quarter to bridge this gap, you can tackle it early and often to: ? Course correct any performance issues ? Avoid the chaos of last-minute reconciliation ? Proactively build partnerships across teams For more on bridging the gap from bookings to billings, check out Chris Burgner's breakdown on Wrap Text: https://lnkd.in/gDR2nZii
