The EIIP is a collaborative initiative that connects and engages a range of organisations and actors, from public, VCSE and private sectors, via a taskforce, advisory board and various sub groups/ projects to deliver on our goals. We are currently hosted by one of our founding partners. Social Investment Business Our key activities include: Convening: A UK Taskforce and other project groupings Capacity Building: Developing and delivering EII learning activities and resources Co development: Using research, dialogue and collaborative development processes we have defined and developed EII definitions, principles and strategies and pilots.

Why should investors prioritise inequality? Our conviction is that inequality can have economic and financial implications that manifest at both market and individual company levels. Therefore, inequality is financially material, and it is our role as investors to address it. See our roadmap for more: https://lnkd.in/efnbhNhJ

Check out the detailed work that has gone in to Predistribution Initiative & Impact Frontiers draft disclosures for investors 'designed to support investor measurement and management of outcomes relating to investment structures and governance, with a particular – though not exclusive – focus on outcomes relating to socio-economic inequality' (find link under tools 'to measure, manage, and report on both intended positive impacts and potential unintended negative consequences of investors’ activities') #equalityimpact
At a time when many have big questions about today’s political and economic systems, it is more important than ever to reflect on what can improve and how. The Predistribution Initiative is pleased to share insights from our collaboration with Impact Frontiers on the Investor Influence Project. This project takes an expansive view of the multifaceted ways investors shape outcomes for stakeholders and the natural environment and recommends that these considerations should be an embedded part of investors’ impact management approaches, recognizing that: ????Investors’ activities can lead to both positive and negative changes in outcomes.? ????Investors can influence outcomes not only through their portfolio companies, but also through their own activities as a firm.? ????This influence can happen through several pathways, including addressing (or contributing to) system-level issues.? For those investors with the goal of positively changing outcomes experienced by stakeholders, this project also frames the importance of considering the extent to which the investor’s activities caused those changes in outcomes.? You can check the products of this project on the link below, which we hope can be further refined through engagement with standard setters and piloting with investors and their stakeholders. We are grateful to the numerous people and organizations who provided input into this extensive project and to Omidyar Network for their generous support. Stay tuned for more details on next steps, including getting involved. We hope you will join us as we continue to co-create learnings and tools on these important topics! ACEVO is working closely with NCVO and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport , to develop a framework for a Civil Society Covenant to reset the relationship between civil society and government to create lasting, positive change. It is proposed the covenant will apply to support all public bodies and civil society organisations. It aims to build on and support existing agreements in place at a local level. It is proposed that it will focus on England, and complement other arrangements in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The four draft principles are: 1. Recognition: to ensure a strong and independent civil society 2. Partnership: to ensure effective service delivery and policy-making 3. Participation: to ensure people and communities can be heard and make a difference 4. Transparency: to ensure civil society and government have the information needed to best serve people and communities Join us in this opportunity to shape what has the potential to re-set the policy environment that civil society leaders and their organisations operate in, for the benefit of the people and causes we exist to serve. https://lnkd.in/eWkMywFa

*The added value of user-led services* Over five years, with City Bridge Foundation, we provided nearly £2m funding to seven Deaf and Disabled people’s organisations, under our Strengthening Voices Realising Rights progamme. Today we’re publishing the evaluation report of the programme – which shows incredible value of user-led advice service - for communities, the organisations, and for funders. 1/ User led advice plays a vital role in the wider ecosystem The Deaf and Disabled people’s organisations funded under SVRR offered a unique blend of professional expertise and lived experience. They provide holistic, person-centred peer support that also benefits clients by connecting them to community and improving their wellbeing. More widely, this illustrates the importance of user-led advice services across the board. 2/ Added financial value to Deaf and Disabled Londoners The programme generated significant financial revenue for Deaf and Disabled Londoners, helping them to access their rights and reduce poverty. For every £1 invested in Strengthening Voices, Realising Rights, at least £3 was generated for Deaf and Disabled Londoners. This is likely an underestimate, and shows the clear financial outcomes of funding this kind of programme. 3/ Resourcing capacity building improves outcomes for services users SVRR included resourcing for capacity building, which was provided by Inclusion London and included training, peer support networks and business development assistance. This was essential for enhancing the funded organisations’ effectiveness and sustainability. The organisations funded under SVRR were: ACTION DISABILITY KENSINGTON & CHELSEA, Disability Advice Service Lambeth, Inclusion Barnet, Merton Centre for Independent Living, Ruils and Stay Safe East. With thanks to Hilary Cornish and Helen Kara for authoring the evaluation.
