The deal, signed on Thursday, will see Last Shot? pay Howard scholar-athletes in company stock to promote its products.? One of the few Black-owned publicly traded companies in America, Last Shot? will also share a portion of the sales of the premium drink with The Mecca Society to fund Howard University Athletics. “This strategic partnership with The Mecca Society will introduce student athletes to business and stock ownership,” said Last Shot? The Mecca Society was founded in 2023 to ensure that Howard students benefit from Collegiate Athletic rules that allow college athletes to monetize their name, image, and likeness. In addition to generating NIL partnership deals and relationships for Howard scholar athletes, The Mecca Society also raises discretionary funds for each team’s operation. Last Shot?
