Takeaways from the NorCal Oracle EPM Meetup on November 15, 2023 Yesterday was the NorCal Oracle EPM Meetup at the Santa Clara Oracle campus, here's a quick recap for those that weren't able to attend: -?Sean Bernhoit?and?Stephen Bowden?from Peloton kicked off the meeting. I specifically liked their observations regarding EPM trends, both specifically for the High Tech industry as well as general EPM topics. -?Murali Ruddaraju?provided a real-world example of Omnicell's success story for implementing Oracle EPM. I specifically liked his callout about the importance of "Robust automation" which I believe is a key driver for reducing production support issues, errors and delays. -?Marc Seewald?allowed us a deep dive into the two new application types which are now available in the EPM Enterprise subscription: Sales Planning and Strategic Workforce Planning. These are two new additions that were previously only available through other services (Oracle CX Sales and HCM) and will allow Oracle EPM customers to expand their usage of Connected Planning to provide greater planning capabilities and insights beyond Finance and Accounting. Both of the modules are flexible to work with Oracle's Sales and HCM solutions, as well as 3rd party applications like Salesforce, Workday, ADP, etc. -?Namita Grover?explained how Oracle Account Reconciliation is helping Accounting teams to streamline and expedite the financial close process. She also discussed and answered many questions about converting existing solutions to Oracle's Account Reconciliation solution. - The Happy Hour took place at TopGolf and it was obvious that although the golf talent and abilities of the attendees varied widely, everyone had a great time. An EPM application without data is of no value. Therefore, it is important to determine the exact data requirements for the EPM application. To increase productivity, it can be very beneficial to automate the data loads by setting up direct integrations between Oracle EPM and its source and target applications. In this article, we will review a common challenge: direct integration between 3rd party source systems and Oracle EPM, as well as any downstream systems for reporting.
