“At ECS4Kids, we’ve seen a tremendous increase in domestic violence reports and almost always, it’s one of our sweet babies who reports that this is happening in their home.” Dr. Natalya Bannister Roby Keynote Our President & CEO, Dr. Roby, recently served as the keynote speaker for the Women's Giving Alliance's Annual Meeting, where they introduced their crucial new focus area addressing violence against women and girls: preventing, surviving, thriving. With 1 in 3 women nationwide experiencing violence in their lifetime, this issue affects not only individuals but entire communities, including the families ECS4Kids serves. Dr. Roby, whose extensive research on trauma, was honored to address this pressing issue. Her talk, ‘Rise and Thrive: Transforming Trauma into Triumph,’ inspired us all, highlighting the power of resilience and post-traumatic growth in building a community that stands united against violence.” Head Start programs play a key and valuable role in families' lives. Program staff are in a unique position to support families and children experiencing domestic violence.
