What a lucky morning buying off the weather at the last minute... we were always taught to follow protocol and be solemn until noon then raise that flag high! How appropriate the sky gently wept during our speaker's entire presentation and reopened after - perfectly timed to his words. A huge thank you to Ohio Veterans Collaborative Treasurer and dear friend Jason Molnar for coming out to my home community to share his story and keep resounding the names. How happy to have a great photo of my father and him together. I forgot Grandpa telling Dad and I this long ago... seeing Jason's children reminded me - Grandpa's favorite sound at a ceremony, especially Memorial Day, was a baby crying.
