关于我们
Buildings globally use 14% of all potable water, but very few buildings reuse that water. Epic Cleantec is on a mission to change that. Epic Cleantec (“Epic”) is a full-service water technology company that deploys onsite water treatment and reuse systems into individual buildings or groups of buildings, converting building wastewater (greywater, blackwater, stormwater, rainwater) into highly purified treated water for non-potable applications like toilet flushing, irrigation, cooling towers, and laundry. Occupying a small footprint within a project, the Epic approach can reuse up to 95% of a building’s wastewater, lowering water and wastewater costs by up to six figures annually. Unique to Epic is that our systems can also incorporate full resource recovery by converting wastewater organics into carbon-rich soil products for landscaping and gardening, and recovering wastewater heat energy to preheat the potable water supply, reducing a project’s hot water energy needs by up to 30%. Our innovative approach can help earn up to 24 LEED points. Born out of initial work with The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Epic provides a one-stop-shop for design, engineering, permitting, construction support, and ongoing operations. Our team has decades of experience across the wastewater and built environment value chain, with expertise in wastewater treatment and solids handling technology, project financing, policy, and operations. Epic has been featured widely in prominent publications including CNBC, CNN, The Guardian, The New York Times, CBS, Bloomberg, NBC Bay Area, ABC7, TechCrunch, and more. Epic has received many accolades, including in the no.1 spot on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list in the small company category. In 2022, Epic’s OneWater? system was named a TIME Best Invention of the Year.

Did you know the water we use today is the same water that existed when dinosaurs roamed the Earth? ???? Water is constantly recycled, whether through the natural water cycle or innovative water reuse technologies. But with climate change accelerating, some of our most critical freshwater sources are at risk. This #WorldWaterDay, we’re spotlighting glacier preservation as these frozen reservoirs are melting at an alarming rate. Protecting them means protecting our planet’s most precious resource. Let’s take action to safeguard our water for future generations! ?? United Nations #WorldWaterDay #Water #WaterReuse

If they weren’t engineers, what other careers would they have pursued? ???? Whether they’re designing groundbreaking systems, tackling complex challenges, or (in an alternate universe) starring as movie stuntmen or top chefs, our engineers are proving that the future of water is in good hands. Over the last few years, many of my friends in tech have asked me how to break into climate. They want work with real impact — something that feels meaningful and urgent — but worry they don’t have the “right” background. Here’s the thing: climate tech NEEDS outsiders. I wrote about this for Fast Company, diving into why this industry thrives on talent from all sectors and how you can make the leap. If you're thinking about it, give it a read—and reach out if you have questions! (NOTE — updated link in the comments below)

In true Texas spirit, we announced the limited-edition launch of a recycled-water whiskey. Showing that together, we can tackle the “yuck” factor, one sip at a time. ??? We hosted an intimate dinner with professionals across the industry to discuss the critical role of water reuse in drought-prone regions and how buildings can be a part of the solution. ?? And, of course, we spent quality time with our local team, aligning on goals for the future. A huge thanks to everyone who joined us last week! Until next time. ??

Happy World Recycling Day! ?? At Epic, we believe recycling goes beyond just plastic and paper; it includes water too. Our water reuse systems enable buildings to recycle wastewater, turning it into clean water, energy, and soil products. ?? Epic is helping to recycle up to 20 million gallons of water annually across our growing portfolio of projects nationwide! This #WorldRecyclingDay, let’s remind ourselves that the “waste” in wastewater really isn’t waste at all.
