Last week, EPIC Rx & EPIC Pharmacy Network hosted our Legislative Summit with our lobbyists from nine states and advocacy leaders from APCI, IPC, NCPA, and PUTT. We recapped this year's successes and solidified the upcoming legislative agenda for the states in which we represent independent pharmacies. We had an insightful time at this interactive session with many ideas exchanged and a lot of strategic planning to advance PBM reform in 2025. We extend a big thank you to all that attended, Anne Cassidy (National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA)), Greg Reybold (APCI), John Covello Independent Pharmacy Cooperative (IPC)), Monique Whitney (Pharmacists United for Truth & Transparency).

CEO Brian Hose had the opportunity to speak on Center Maryland's The Lobby Podcast with Damian O'Doherty and Aliyah Horton, FASAE, CAE to discuss PBMs impact on independent pharmacies and their communities. "PBMs went from a group that was increasing efficiency and making it easier for patients to possibly controlling costs and now vertically integrating to gobble up as much business as they can," Brian states during the discussion followed by Aliyah stating that "PBMs view pharmacies as vending machines and they are much more than that."
