For the past 30 years, March has been a time to celebrate the incredible women who have helped shape our world. And this Women's History Month, we're highlighting Women That Wow Us—leaders who have paved the way for themselves and others. Last week, we talked with Pamela Goldberg, VP and General Manager at the Hain Celestial Group about what it takes to thrive as a female executive, the challenges of balancing?ambition with life outside of work, and how she’s pushing for a future where women don’t have to choose between work and motherhood. And, of course, we couldn't leave without asking for some wisdom. Her advice? "I always imagined my career would be linear, but some of the most valuable lessons and truly life-changing opportunities came from taking a risk on a lateral move. Don’t try to plan everything. Stay open to new paths, especially the ones that scare you a little. Jumping at those chances will show you what you’re made of and ultimately, open doors to places you didn’t even know you wanted to go. The pendulum is starting to swing back to brand and a rethink of the traditional CMO-based marketing model. Marketing organizations within major brands are recognizing the damage they can do to their brands if they focus too much on performance marketing and too little on brand marketing. Marketers, agency execs and consultants said there’s a noticeable shift when talking to brand marketers — not only CMOs but those with the various titles that have started to replace the CMO title — where it’s clear that care for brand as well as performance is more apparent.
