Studies show that 40-80% of discharge instructions are forgotten by patients, leading to complications, readmissions, and extra costs for hospitals. This is problematic for patients because their health is not improving, and is also problematic for hospitals because they get a fee from insurance companies when patients are readmitted in under 30 days. Our company, DocAI, aims to provide brief, animated videos with discharge instructions to patients. Doctors just upload their notes, and our AI does the rest. These videos are short, easy to understand, and can be shared securely with loved ones. The videos are stored in a secure HIPPAcompliant location for 24/7 access. The videos can also be translated to di?erent languages. With DocAI, we’re bridging the communication gap between doctors and patients, ensuring everyone leaves the hospital informed and ready to recover. Our idea is di?erent because it provides short animated videos which are appealing to the patients and ?ts in most people’s attention span. Additionally, it does not take time out of doctors’ days to create the videos because they can just upload their already created discharge note for the patient.
