Our Accelerator Learning Chair, Kate Morgan, grew her business to $2M within a few years! But that’s not the part she’s most proud of. Kate i?s? all of the magic that happens behind the scenes at Accelerator. From preparing learning days, recruitment events, EOA socials, and so much more, Kate is genuinely the backbone of our organization. And that should come as no surprise when you hear her story: During the recession, Kate was a contractor helping startups with talent acquisition. Even in a down economy, her work was in such high demand that she quickly became over-subscribed. Traditional recruiting models, in her opinion, wasn’t right. ? ???????? ???????????? ???????? ???? ???????????????????? ?????????????? ???????? ????????????… abrading with Kate’s core belief that a company’s greatest asset is its people and not something to be bartered for. So in 2011, she decided to change the narrative and launched her own business, Boston Human Capital Partners, Inc. She’s been able to recruit employees that were a bit misguided on their career paths, and have now gone on to do great things within the TA space. As the EOA Chair, Kate has stepped into the role at a time when the market feels just as unpredictable as when she started. Her goal is to guide Accelerator members through these challenges and ensure they feel supported on their entrepreneurial journeys. Kate’s story is a reminder that success is more than numbers— Success is about the impact you make on the people around you. #EOAccelerator #Entrepreneurship #Founder — P.S. She releases her book soon… stay tuned ??

Once of those great kids is Ashley Parent. A current EO Accelerator member and owner/CEO of Mills. We featured Ashley’s story a few months ago, and it really resonated with a lot of people. So, when we discovered she shared her story on the Machine Shop Mastery podcast, we knew we had to share it. Now, Ashley has been a dedicated accelerator member, on her way to scaling her company to over $1M. Listen Here ?? https://lnkd.in/eUPGQprC

What would happen if your business went away? Yes, magically vanished or went out of business… Most founders may struggle to answer this question. Or they may think, “Well, nothing would happen.” But really think about it… If you currently have customers, your company is ???????????????? solving a REAL problem! And if your company went away, your customer base would go back to having their problems. This “purpose statement” should be part of your strategy. It’s something that we explored last week with 40 of our EO Accelerator Boston members at Strategy Learning Day hosted by Dan Clifford. With content from Verne Harnish’s book Scaling Up: A Gazelles Company, founders generating $250k+ in revenue dove deep into their company strategy. It was an entire day that operators took time to work ON their business instead of IN it. And so many new ideas were created to drive future revenue growth. Shoutout to all of the amazing entrepreneurs who joined us yesterday– Plus, thank you to Cambridge Savings Bank for hosting us! If you’re interested in joining Accelerator, we only have 2 spots left this month… ??

Most companies are only running a 5-6% profitability margin… not great. Firms realistically need to be at 15-20% profitability to be considered “healthy.” And to cash out for some real $$ A lot of these issues stem from similar challenges: ? Incorrect pricing strategy ? Poor cost management ? Inefficient Operations ? Poor market awareness ? And many more… So, we’re curious. During discussions with our Accelerator group, we posed the following question and want to hear your answer:

We are excited to welcome Alexander Krisak to the EO Boston Accelerator! Alex started his company with one clear mission: ? To change the way people consume financial education and retirement planning in this country. He recognized a significant gap between how people learn and how the financial services industry was delivering information. Through partnerships with large organizations, Alex is transforming the retirement landscape and providing more people with access to quality financial education. One of Alex’s financial education engagements was focused on student loan debt and early retirement planning for attorneys.? It was distributed to many of the law firms in the commonwealth and all 3rd year law students in Massachusetts.? That program ended up being a stepping stone to many similar financial education opportunities on a national level. Pretty cool ?? Alex’s mission to provide meaningful financial education is more important now than ever. Welcome to EOA! #Entrepreneur #Accelerator #Founder

Your business strategy is probably wrong… Here’s how you know: ? Only around 5-6% profitability (Prior years, if you were less than 15%... you were seen as failing). ? Increasing what you charge for products/services frequently (The market is less tolerant at the moment). ? Not looking for business in other markets. ? Scaring off prospects by going for larger deals. ? Content is too predictable. ?? And if you align with 1 or some of these… don’t worry. It happens to all of us! That’s why we’re excited to host the EO Boston Strategy Learning Day. Join 40+ founders for a full day of unlocking your growth potential with expert strategy insights ?? Take the day to be ?????? of the weeds of your business on November 7th. You won’t regret it. This is a chance to work on your company’s foundation, inspired by expert teachings and EO principles. Don’t miss out on this opportunity! Email [email protected] or message Kate Morgan to register.

Lydia Sierra has spent 30 years in the nonprofit sector… And she’s truly making a difference.?? For the first decade, Lydia focused on direct services— Building programs for PLWAs, youth development, and family strengthening. Later, as a Community Organizer in the Bronx, she discovered a passion for writing and began crafting proposals to raise funds for NPOs. And that’s when she realized she could make a national-level difference helping charities raise money. Today, Lydia’s firm raises millions for nonprofits across the U.S., with a fully remote team committed to creating meaningful impact. We’re excited to have Lydia as part of our latest EOA cohort ??
