The rows of panels are growing at our Mooi Plaats Solar Facility!?The 240 MW solar farm, located near Noupoort in the North Cape, South Africa, covers an area of 629 ha, and will have 416 324 TRINA Bi facial type N PV modules installed on a single axle tracker system. There will be 943 string inverters, and the plant will have a total DC capacity of 283.1 MW. The project will evacuate from the IPP Collector substation/SWS station via a 132kV Twin Tern OHL into Koruson MTS. The Koruson 2 (K2) cluster, with a total electricity generation capacity of 520 MW, is being built, under the Envusa Energy joint venture formed between Anglo American and EDF Renewables. The first solar panels have been installed on the Mooi Plaats PV project! In total, 416324 panels will have been installed by the time the project reaches completion. The project is part of the Koruson 2 (K2) cluster, with a total electricity generation capacity of 520 MW, is the first wave of projects to reach commercial and financial close, under the Envusa Energy joint venture that has been formed between Anglo American and EDF Renewables. The project comprises the Umsobomvu Wind Project (140MW), Hartebeesthoek Wind Project (140MW), Mooi Plaats PV Project (240MW), located in the “Koruson” cluster in the Hydra supply area on the Eastern Cape/Northern Cape provincial border. All of the projects will connect to the new Koruson 400kV Main Transmission Substation (MTS), currently being built as part of EDF Renewable’s Koruson 1 project cluster. The casting process takes 10-12 hours and utilises about 12,204 cubes of concrete.?31 bases?out of a total of 50 have been cast to date. ?
