?? Spring Prep Tip ?? Spring is just about here! It's time to trim back all vine-like groundcover plants such as Asian Jasmine and Purple Wintercreeper, both of which are popular in the DFW! ?? Trimming these groundcovers serves several purposes: -Eliminates damaged/brown tips -Promotes new growth -Removes stray runners -Simplifies maintenance and ensures a consistent height, resembling a lush carpet. To maintain these plants effectively, it is advised to trim them to a height of 4"-6". You can use scissors or weedeaters for small areas and mowers for larger areas. ? Myth Busted! ?? Mulch isn't just for decoration! It's functional AND beautiful! ??? ???????? ?????? ?????? ???????????????? ???? ??????????? ■ Mulch helps conserve and extend available water. ?? ■ Protects the soil from erosion. ■ Reduces competition by suppressing weeds. ■ Moderates temperature extremes.?? ■ Acts as a barrier or visible marker of gardening beds to limit damage by landscape maintenance equipment. ■ Feeds soil biology as it decomposes. ?? ■ Aesthetically pleasing. Don't forget too much mulch isn't good either. Plants need to breathe; too much mulch around the plants' roots can do the opposite by preventing adequate airflow and moisture from getting to the root system.
