Over the last 22 years ESI has completed hundreds of projects across the state and around the Pacific rim. We've worked with State and Federal Government, landowners, engineers, contractors, developers, commercial industry and individuals. We provide support under major state and federal environmental laws including the Hawaii Environmental Response Law, CERCLA/SARA, TSCA, NEPA, CAA, CWA and RCRA, as well as utilizing environmental management systems (EMS) for complex entities and operations. Projects include a range of site issues including: -State VRP Program Release Sites, -Soil and groundwater investigations and assessments, -Preparation of Sampling and Analysis Plans, and other work plans, -Conducting Federal CERCLA SI, RI, and RSE field work and preparing the associated documentation, -Preparation of Federal CERCLA RAA, FS, and EE/CA documents, as well as Decision Documents and RODs, and oversight for remedial/removal actions, -Preparation of ASTM Standard Phase I and II Env. Site Assessments (ESAs), -Regulatory compliance inspections and EMS development and implementation, -Technical and logistical support for public and stakeholder meetings, -UST removal/closure site assessment, release response, system inspections, testing and compliance, -Groundwater and soil remediation, site closure, and long-term monitoring and reporting, and -Haz Mat (incl. lead and asbestos) assessment and planning, and forensic environmental/chemistry and investigation.

We must all accept that existing PFAS contamination cannot be remedied with any defined timeframe.?However, minimizing what more PFAS is added now, will deliver advantages into the future and allow the global community to develop and implement strategies to remove, destroy or otherwise mitigate the long-term impacts of the current global load. A damning new report has shown that nearly all major car companies are actively sabotaging the world’s efforts to avoid catastrophic global warming. The lobbying strategies being used by the world’s largest automakers are putting global climate targets at risk and threatening the electric vehicle transition, according to the new report released by InfluenceMap. The report says Japanese automakers are the least prepared for the EV transition and have the most active, strategic engagement against it. Aside from Tesla, only Mercedes and BMW have EV production forecasts that align with the IEA’s updated 1.5°C scenario which requires 66% of all new car sales to be EVs by 2030. “Toyota, with a Performance Band score of D, remains the lowest-scoring company and is found to be driving opposition to climate rules in multiple regions.” says the report. “In regulatory comments submitted in 2023, Toyota advocated to weaken GHG emissions standards in the US and Australia, engaged against stringent zero-emission vehicle mandates in Canada and the UK.
