Uranium Mining in Wyoming: Today's modern practice does not require the entire wellfields to be stripped - only the location of each individual well. The same process is followed following the installation of the well. Topsoil is redistributed and the location is reseeded. After a growing season or two, you can't even tell where the disturbance was-only that a wellhead exists. There will still be infrastructure built to process the commodity as necessary, but the wellfield disturbances have been substantially reduced. deq.wyoming.gov
