A very humbling experience and a project that we are especially proud to have completed.?Earlier this summer, ENVECO remediated an F-16 crash site for the Wisconsin Air National Guard (WI ANG) and US Forest Service (USFS). The remote area of the Hiawatha National Forest, located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, was only accessible via logging trails. Remediation included the excavation and disposal of approximately 550 tons of petroleum contaminated soil and debris to depths of 12 feet below grade. During contaminated soil removal, unearthed aircraft debris was segregated and returned to the WI ANG. Restoration of the site was performed in strict compliance with USFS requirements and preserved the crash site memorials.

  • ENVECO recently completed tank, containment area, and fueling offload/fill stands demolition at Luke AFB, Arizona in support of Reliable Contracting Group and USACE Omaha District. Three aboveground storage tanks were demolished in place and removed including a MOGAS (25,000 gallon), Jet-A Fuel (25,000 gallon), and Diesel Fuel (50,000 gallon) tank. One 2,500-gallon underground stormwater tank was also removed. In conjunction with the tanks, two fueling racks, more than 1,000 liner feet of fuel piping, and concrete containment walls and containment liner were removed. The work was performed without disruption to active fueling operations and adjacent to an active runway which required meticulous debris and dust management. At the conclusion of demolition, the site was restored to match surrounding conditions.
