Just one month ago, Benjamin Ernst of Ann Arbor SPARK and I were brainstorming after lunch on how to address the mismatch of top-notch, seasoned Ross MBAs seeking hands-on business experience with high-growth startups in need of talent to tackle their company's biggest challenges and scale their organizations. With some scrappiness and thanks to the generous support of Bill Mayer, we organized the inaugural Startup Graduate Internship Matching Event last night. More than 150 MBAs and a dozen startup founders from Retrospect, Fleet Lab, to DaySmart convened for a night of exchanging ideas, exploring employment opportunities, and forging partnerships. Special thanks to Andrew Haeger, Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital (EVC) at Ross (University of Michigan), Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, and the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business for their support and amplification of this event.
