We’re thrilled to see this important work come to life and are proud that the Enterprise Mobility Foundation is supporting The Nature Conservancy’s freshwater strategies in Missouri.
Finding innovative ways to work with nature is a powerful strategy for people and conservation. When devastating floods hit Atchison County, Missouri, in 2019, residents pulled together in search of a solution. The Nature Conservancy and our partners supported the community in a truly collaborative project that moved five miles of the levee inland from the Missouri River, reconnecting more than 1,000 acres of floodplain. Now, the community is safer, birds and other wildlife are flocking to the expanded habitat and the river has room to move. Thank you to KMOS PBS for featuring Rob Hunt, TNC’s Missouri director of resilient waters, in telling this important story! https://lnkd.in/ewwZSkHM
