Exciting news from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)! We’re thrilled to announce that our team has been selected to advance stronger residential building energy codes. Led by The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) and in partnership with NASEO - National Association of State Energy Officials and the New Buildings Institute, we’ll collaborate across key states and jurisdictions to develop net-zero energy code amendments that could be adopted nationwide, aiming to significantly reduce utility bills for residents. As our own Michelle Dusseau Diller says: “We’re proud to be part of this coalition and are committed to providing affordable housing leaders with a clear path to zero-energy, zero-emissions homes. Together, we can create healthy, energy-efficient housing that benefits both owners and residents.”
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced that ACEEE and a team of partners was selected to receive $3.6 million to work with six states to develop and adopt stronger residential building energy codes. With three sets of progressively stronger codes, the effort will culminate with codes that achieve zero-emissions new homes.? In coalition with Enterprise Community Partners, NASEO - National Association of State Energy Officials, and the New Buildings Institute, ACEEE will work with California, Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington to adopt and implement cutting-edge building codes for new homes, significantly lowering utility bills for residents.
