Now with the help of our partners, we’re turning decades of best practices into regional strategies that multifamily owners and operators can use to protect their portfolios. Go behind the scenes of our latest training with insights from Joshua Saks from Georgetown Climate Center, Ali Khademian from Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP), Judith Cabelli from Wesley Housing and our very own Krista Egger. We’re humbled to receive a historic $65 million grant from Mackenzie Scott, a second major contribution following Scott’s first donation in 2020. The initial donation helped us execute our 2020-2025 strategic plan, and funded programs supporting historically marginalized housing providers, giving renters monthly cash back payments, and deepening our work with Native and tribal communities. This second grant will build on that initial investment and bolster our program capacity to address the need for housing supply and climate-resilient communities. https://bit.ly/4ggeBSH

Housing costs in Mississippi are 50% of renters’ monthly income. Last week, the state Senate and House of Representatives Housing Committee met to address the state affordability crisis. Gulf Coast policy director John Sullivan spoke to WLBT about the lack of affordable housing in the state, “The problem we face is largely a problem of housing supply. We as a nation are simply not building enough homes.” https://bit.ly/3OcuBZR
