This #HispanicHeritageMonth, we’re celebrating partners who are Pioneers of Change in creating and preserving affordable housing for their communities. Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) equips Latinos and other underserved communities with the skills and financial tools to create a better future for their families and communities. We're proud to work with them as a part of the Purple Line Corridor Coalition (PLCC). Learn more about their Purple Line Small Business Advocacy Program, launched this month! https://bit.ly/3NaQMPu

Last week marked two significant milestones in Richmond, Virgina: the grand opening of Highland Terrace Apartments and the groundbreaking of Green Park Apartments. Together, these developments will provide 109 new affordable homes and offer a range of services aimed at supporting residents’ well-being and promoting upward mobility. Notably, the new homes are located adjacent to Highland Park Senior Apartments, which we completed in 2017. To date, Enterprise has developed over 300 affordable apartments in Richmond. We are extremely grateful for our dedicated local and state partners, without whom this momentum would not be possible. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3XZifbO

“The beloved community of inclusion – we see that as our mission and thanks to you, it’s a reality.” Yesterday in Richmond, Virginia, City Councilwoman Ellen Robertson was among the dignitaries joining us to celebrate not one but two incredible affordable housing achievements: the grand opening of Highland Terrace and the groundbreaking for Green Park. Also on hand were our CEO and President Shaun Donovan, Janine Lind, MBA, CPM, president of our Community Development division, Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney, and a host of essential partners who made this day – and these beautiful, resilient, sustainable homes – possible. A preserved steeple adorns Highland Terrace’s fa?ade, reminiscent of the building’s rich history and its new purpose: a sacred place for people to call home. Alan Biller Johnson Mark Monique S. Thank you JPMorganChase?for your continuous partnership with Enterprise Community Partners?on examining and scaling solutions to address our acute housing supply and affordability challenges. It was a pleasure to kick off a series of conversations in Washington this week with Heather Higginbottom. Alongside experts and partners, we talked about how we as a country can cut through red tape and create new, innovative financing mechanisms to build and preserve more affordable homes. At a time where the U.S. is short 7 million affordable homes and 12 million Americans pay over half of their income on rent, we need to expand and create new public-private partnerships to build and preserve affordable homes in urban, suburban, Tribal, and rural communities nationwide.?

Direct rental assistance is not a new idea. But the DRA model, in which rental assistance flows directly to residents, has gained renewed interest. Our own Alexa Rosenberg spoke to the Housing Initiative at Penn’s Vincent Reina about DRA’s history and evolution, and the DRA pilot underway in Philadelphia. https://bit.ly/3N9VL2O

Juntos. Together. That is the purpose of our Employee Resource Groups within Enterprise — to bring Enterprisers together, united by a goal to encourage growth and diversity and work toward equitable outcomes for all. As we continue to celebrate #HispanicHeritageMonth, hear from JUNTOS, our Latino/Hispanic ERG, on how the group empowers them and connects them to the work they do at Enterprise. #AffordableHousing #CommunityDevelopment
