Today, we’re celebrating the birthday of our namesake, Major General Uzal Girard Ent! ???? Here are a few remarkable facts about his life: ?? Born on March 3, 1900, in Pennsylvania ?? Commanded the tent city that later became Ent Air Force Base ?? Was a co-pilot in the National Balloon race when a lightning strike killed the pilot and set the balloon on fire. Ent could have parachuted to safety but, instead, chose to stay, attempted to rescue the pilot and successfully landed the balloon. ?? Overcame paralysis from a B-25 crash, learning to walk again with braces ?? Retired in 1946 as a Major General after a distinguished military career Happy birthday, Major General Ent! Insured by NCUA
