Getting to know Wes Weichert, Project Geologist Q: What professional tools/techniques do you find most efficient or effective at Ensolum? A: At Ensolum, the most powerful tools I utilize are specialized software applications and analytical techniques that maximize efficiency in site assessments and remediation efforts. RockWorks accelerates the development of Conceptual Site Models with its advanced subsurface geologic modeling capabilities, while Surfer and ArcGIS enhance visualization for contaminant distribution and isocontour mapping. Additionally, open-source statistical tools such as ProUCL provide robust data analysis without the cost constraints of proprietary software. These tools enable faster decision-making, optimize remedial strategies, and ensure regulatory compliance, providing the most effective solutions for our projects and clients. Q: What was your first paying job? A: My first paying job was at a catering restaurant, where I learned culinary techniques, knife skills, and the meaning of a long workday. Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? A: Teleportation - I love to travel, and skipping long flights and layovers would be a game-changer! It would also be very useful backcountry skiing. Q: What advice would you provide to someone interested in working at Ensolum? A: Be ready to take initiative and adapt to a fast-paced environment. At Ensolum, every project presents unique challenges, so a problem-solving mindset and strong technical skills will take you far!
