The hexad, the 7 pointed figure that connects 1 - 4 - 2 - 8 - 5 - 7 and then back to 1 represents the Law of Seven, or the universal Law of Change. Like the laws of nature, everything is in motion, even when it's so minute that we cannot discern the movement. The moon stays full for only a moment, yet to the human eye it's several days of fullness. So too is our inner landscape, always in movement and motion, even when we can't yet know/feel/sense the shifts. George Gurdjieff refered to the Law of Seven as a cosmic law that explains process, noted by fluctuations and ups and downs. On a musical scale, we start with the 'do' (do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do) - so too, a myriad of events can thus "strike the do" and begin the process as expressed by the Law of Seven. It takes a concsious interception in the movement of ups and downs to move into a different process. Can you find your breath? Can you follow it from the very beginning of your inhale, all the way through your exhale, and back to the top of the inhale? That too is the Law of Seven at work inside of you. Unconciously flowing in and out - what happenes when you intercept your breath with more awareness?

The equilateral traingle that connects points 3 - 6 - 9 on the Enneagram represents the Law of Three, or the Law of Creation. There are opposing forces inside everything and everyone. Everything that is, also is NOT. The Enneagram helps us to understand the paradoxical relationship of our ego self and gently, with time, make space to meet the two opposing forces with presence rather than resistance or judgment. When we are able to meet the two forces with presence, we make space for a third, or reconciling force. The third force is what allows us to come out of our automatic responses and ways of doing things by creating something new. The third force propels us toward something bigger and previously unimaginable! Can you bring presence to the Law of Three operating in your life and the world this week?

The circle, equilateral triangle, and the hexad, which make up the Enneagram symbol, represent the universal laws of ONE, THREE, and SEVEN. The circle represents the Law of One - where everything - every emotion, every sensation, every thought, and everyone - belongs. The Law of ONE is the Law of Universal Connection. The Enneagram isn't complete without all of the numbers, and we are all expressions of the same being. The Law of ONE is an invitation to remember our original unity, connection, and wholeness. Thomas Merton said, "My dear brothers and sisters, we are already one. But we imagine we are not. And what we have to recover is our original unity. What we have to be, is what we are.” When we are present and connected to our essential selves, we are also present and connected to everything and everyone. Can you picture a moment where you experienced wholeness; a time when you brought all three of your centers together?

Claudine is the Director of Lived Experience and Innovation at Destination: Home. Originally from American Samoa, Claudine served in the United States Navy and the Army National Guard before starting her work in the nonprofit sector. Previous to joining Destination: Home, Claudine developed and implemented programs to help unhoused and justice-involved populations earn a living wage and find stable housing. Claudine brings to the board of Enneagram Prison Project a commitment to her own inner work, alongside a devotion to social justice initiatives that center the lived experiences of the communities they serve.

EPP Ambassador Dustin Baldwin was first introduced to the project in 2016 while incarcerated. After release, Dustin reached out with a desire to continue his self-development work in community with EPP, and eventually became an Ambassador, representing the project on both sides of the bars. Today, Dustin is a leader in the project, both as an EPP Ambassador and Board Member for EPP's Canadian affiliate. In addition, Dustin recently joined the staff as EPP's Program Manager. In this capacity, Dustin serves as a liaison between correctional facilities and EPP. He works closely with EPP's faculty team, Executive Director, and Guide community to ensure we meet the needs of EPP's in custody program.
