WALESKA, GA (Feb. 18, 2025) – Jazz vocalist James Torme, son of legendary jazz singer Mel Torme, infuses jazz and pop classics with contemporary tunes at The Falany Performing Arts Center on March 15th at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Torme’s musical influences began as a child, spending time with music legends such as Bing Crosby, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Buddy Rich, Artie Shaw, and Branford Marsalis. “It’s obvious James Torme inherited his father’s musical gifts and then created his own style,” said Jessica Akers, director of the Falany Performing Arts Center. “He has it all – a great voice, charm, wit, and charismatic stage presence.
