Brent, Brandon, and Jackson were able to go to the 70th Annual KU Structural Engineering Conference yesterday in Lawrence, KS. They spent the day learning the latest in structural engineering from speakers from across the nation. They also got see the progress on the new football stadium which is a going to be a great example of exposed structure used to create a beautiful form.

Electrifying, energizing, and enlightening news…. our electrical division has grown! We welcome Hannah Brown to Engineering Consultants! Hannah previously worked for us as a summer intern several years ago. Hannah joins Engineering Consultants full-time after working the last 3 years for a consulting engineering firm in the Kansas City area. She is a University of Kansas graduate with an architectural engineering degree with an electrical/lighting emphasis. She resides in Olathe with her husband, Easton, and dog, Devin. Like Sidney does for our structural clients, she will work closely with our Hutchinson office serving our existing electrical clients as well as creating the opportunity to provide local service for clients in the eastern part of KS as well as Missouri!

We want to wish Brandon a happy 13th anniversary with EC! Brandon works hard for our clients and we are so thankful for him.

Yesterday we celebrated Vance's 10 year anniversary with EC! We are so thankful for his hard work and dedication to every project.

Happy birthday to the boss, Brent! We appreciate everything you do for EC. Otis says, “happy birthday, I wish I could come to the office every day!”

Before we get into the full swing of 2025 we wanted to reflect on some of our favorite projects from 2024! 1. Completed 1861 Club Project at the State Fair 2. 1861 Club in an earlier stage 3. The Mary Magdalene House new Chapel 4. The Mary Mag Chapel when timbers were going up 5. The expansion of a gymnasium for USD 311 Pretty Prairie incorporating 100’ long steel girders.? 6. The outside of Trinity Catholic High School’s new gym 7. Normandie Shopping Center multi-phase facade renovation 8. Construction on a fire station turned daycare for Central Christian School 9. Inside lighting on Farmers State Bank in Galva, Kansas

We took a (very) short break this week to enjoy the snow and have a little fun! We tested out the hot water evaporation trick!

We hope everyone had a Merry and restful Christmas! We are open the rest of this week and will close again on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. This year we celebrated all of our employees’ hard work over a delicious dinner together during our Christmas party! We also had a great time with some “friendly” pickleball competition. Looking forward to another great year with our awesome employees!
