Just back from the Forbes CIO Summit in NYC, where our Managing Partner, Katie Rae, joined a panel discussing the next revolution in information technology—from quantum computing to photonics, AI chips, and cellular signals from space. The conversation, moderated by Alex Knapp of Forbes, highlighted how these transformative technologies are reshaping the IT industry and redefining what’s possible. To call out a few: DBOS, Inc. reimagines computation by orchestrating distributed components into a unified, massive “brain”—optimizing resources, cutting latency, and enhancing security. Celestial AI enables the rapid transfer of data at the speed of light, reducing bottlenecks and accelerating AI model training. Atlantic Quantum is integrating quantum processing units with traditional CPUs and GPUs, opening the door to solving previously impossible challenges in computation. The Routing Company (TRC) has gained significant momentum this fall. Just last week, they announced that over 2 million passengers have used Pingo—a tool that provides all riders with convenient transit access—across five countries. In September, TRC signed one of the largest on-demand transit deals of the year with New York's RTS - Regional Transit Service, kicking off a five-year 132 vehicle partnership for on-demand service. Following Emvolon’s announcement of significant partnerships and a licensing agreement with MIT, CEO Emmanuel Kasseris, PhD discussed the company’s journey with MIT News' Zach Winn. The article details Emvolon’s evolution from spinning out of an MIT Lab to today, producing up to six barrels of green methanol a day in its 5,000 square-foot headquarters in Woburn, Massachusetts. Last week was a productive one for our portfolio: Copernic Catalysts raised $8 million in seed funding to to scale its ammonia synthesis catalyst and to expand its exclusive research partnership with Schr?dinger Sora Fuel signed a Technology Cooperation Agreement with Emerging Fuels Technology, aimed at accelerating the development and scale of sustainable aviation fuel Emvolon secured partnerships with major biogas suppliers, green methanol product offtakers, equipment and technology corporations, and a licensing agreement with MIT Congratulations to the teams at Copernic, Sora and Emvolon.
