Last year, the #Texas grid saw more additions of #solar and #batterystorage than any other power source. As we look ahead, with forecasted power demand growing due to population increase and heavy load users like data centers, #cryptocurrency mining and artificial intelligence, ENGIE remains committed to advancing our #cleanenergy projects in the Lone Star State. In 2024, ERCOT successfully managed another hot Texas summer thanks to capacity growth from solar and battery storage that enhances grid stability and reliability. ENGIE has over 5.5GW of operating clean energy in Texas, and we look forward to continuing our pipeline with our largest solar project to date in the United States: our Chillingham project with 350 MW. Ever wondered how a Power Purchase Agreement works? A PPA is a long-term contract between a renewable energy producer and a consumer, ensuring a stable supply of sustainable energy. At the heart of every PPA is the producer. This infographic highlights how ENGIE fulfills this role by generating renewable electricity from its own wind and solar farms. To guarantee transparency, ENGIE provides Guarantees of Origin (GOs), or Energy Attributes Certificates (EAC), certifying that the electricity comes from verified renewable sources.
