???? ?? | China’s chance to prove it’s a climate leader as US withdraws from Paris Agreement ?? With the US withdrawing again from the Paris accords, this is the moment for China to expand its climate ambitions, says Bloomberg's editorial board ?? Clean-energy sectors defined broadly grew 3x as fast as the Chinese economy overall last year...contributing more than 10% of GDP growth ??https://lnkd.in/gw-ffEkB ?? ?? But as China invested $940B in clean-energy last year, it launched or resumed construction on almost 100GW of coal-power projects, the most since 2015 ??https://lnkd.in/e9xQuFsR ??? ?? If China wants to prove it's serious on climate, it would set a hard cap on overall GHG emissions & a goal of reducing them by at least 30% from 2023 levels by 2035 ??https://lnkd.in/eF-BmCJ3 ?? https://lnkd.in/eRJfPFJS Global Energy Monitor & CREA w/ Bloomberg #China #CleanEnergy #CleanAir #CoalPower #EnergyTransition #ParisAgreement #Renewables

CREA is an independent research organisation revealing the trends, causes, health impacts and solutions to air pollution
关于我们
We are an independent research organisation focused on revealing the trends, causes, and health impacts, as well as the solutions to air pollution. Health-harming pollutants from burning fossil fuels are responsible for at least 3 million air pollution deaths per year. However, rapid advances in modern, clean energy technologies are a key opportunity to improve air quality and protect public health. We use scientific data, research and evidence to support the efforts of governments, companies and campaigning organizations worldwide in their efforts to move towards clean energy and clean air. We believe that effective research and communication are the key to successful policies, investment decisions and advocacy efforts.

Today, the U.S. is discussing easing #sanctions against Russia, effectively signalling support for the Kremlin’s aggression. Negotiating with dictators, accepting their terms, and forgiving their brutal murders puts global security at risk. Russia’s bloody crimes cannot be excused, and sanctions must not be weakened — they must be strengthened! According to a report from our partners at the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA), from January 2024 to January 2025, the U.S. imported €2.8 billion worth of refined oil from Indian and Turkish refineries processing Russian crude — with at least €1.3 billion directly refined from Russian #oil. Seeing as a third of the Russian federal budget is comprised of revenue from fossil fuel exports, sanctions of them is the key to ending the invasion, while simultaneously also gaining the upper hand in negotiations towards an equitable and acceptable peace for Ukraine. Every loophole that allows Russian oil and #gas to reach global markets funds Russia’s war machine and prolongs Ukraine’s suffering. We cannot fuel dictators! ?? Take Action Now! Email President Donald Trump at his official email - [email protected], and demand an immediate ban on all oil and gas imports linked to Russian crude. Tell Trump: The U.S. must stand with #Ukraine and enforce real sanctions! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/earUGyCz #StandWithUkraine The White House
