By 2030, reaching net-zero emissions will require 16 million workers to transition to clean energy careers. To meet ambitious climate goals, Energy Trust is partnering with Earth Advantage and the EnerCity Collaborative to create opportunities for underrepresented communities to thrive in the growing clean energy economy. Through pre-apprenticeship programs, green career trainings and the launch of the Oregon Residential Construction Career Hub these resources connect job seekers from low-income and BIPOC communities to long-term opportunities. ??? Over 850 participants have already benefited from workforce training since 2018. ?? In 2024, new BIPOC-focused programs will help professionals earn certifications and expand their energy-efficient service offerings. Oregon has secured $113 million to help low- and moderate-income households reduce energy use and costs, thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act. Low- and moderate-income Oregonians will soon benefit from two new rebate programs: ?? Home Efficiency Rebates (HOMES): Get rewarded for making your home more energy efficient. Households with low incomes qualify for even bigger rebates! ? Home Electrification & Appliance Rebates (HEAR): Save on high-efficiency electric appliances and home upgrades with at-the-point-of-sale rebates Delivered in partnership with Energy Trust, these programs will: ? Expand access to no-cost or low-cost upgrades like heat pumps & water heaters. ? Combine new rebates with Energy Trust incentives for maximum impact. ? Scale up support for income-qualified residents.
