Namibia Gears Up for Offshore Oil & Gas Boom. Namibia is set to expand its offshore oil and gas sector with a new licensing round and seven planned wells in 2025. Petroleum Commissioner Maggy Shino highlighted the country’s commitment to a sustainable operating environment, fast-tracking discoveries to first oil. With 220,000 sq km of offshore acreage still underexplored, major players like BW Energy, Rhino Resources, TotalEnergies, and Shell are ramping up drilling efforts. Chevron has also expanded its footprint with new licenses, while Pancontinental seeks partners for exploration in PEL 87. ??#ULTIMAHORA | Slim negocia inversión en Zama e Ixachi, dos de los principales campos de Pemex PEMEX y Grupo Carso, de #CarlosSlim, mantienen #negociaciones para financiar y operar dos de los #yacimientos energéticos más importantes de México: #Zama e #Ixachi, según informó #Reuters citando fuentes cercanas al proceso. Las #conversaciones se centran en la #inversión de Slim a través de Talos México en el campo de crudo Zama, en aguas profundas del Golfo de México, y en el desarrollo del yacimiento de #gasnatural Ixachi, en Veracruz. Pemex, que posee el 50.43% de Zama, ha sostenido reuniones con Talos Energy y Harbour Energy, que tienen el 17.4% y el 32.2% de #participación, respectivamente. De acuerdo con una fuente gubernamental citada por Reuters, las #negociaciones podrían derivar en un acuerdo de operación conjunta, lo que significaría una cesión parcial de #control por parte de Pemex, un modelo poco común para la empresa estatal. En el caso de Ixachi, fuentes con #conocimiento del tema se?alaron a Reuters que Slim busca participar en el desarrollo del yacimiento mediante un contrato mixto, recientemente aprobado por el #Congreso. Actualmente, la producción de gas de Ixachi es procesada en la planta de Papan, pero Pemex evalúa la #construcción de una segunda instalación con una inversión estimada en 500 millones de dólares para aumentar su capacidad de procesamiento hasta 345 millones de pies cúbicos de gas por día. Grupo Carso e Ideal, otra empresa de Slim, han expresado interés en financiar esta #infraestructura. Estas #negociaciones ocurren en un contexto donde Pemex enfrenta una elevada #deuda y una caída en la producción a mínimos de cuatro décadas.
