?? Insights from CERAWeek 2025 ?? Energy Dialogues CEO Monika Sim?es is at CERAWeek, where the buzz is undeniable! Kicking off the week, U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright shared key insights on the future of energy: ? Energy Disparity – A stark gap in global energy access remains. ? Re-industrialization – Strengthening U.S. manufacturing can reduce carbon-intensive imports. ? LNG & Nuclear – Lifting the LNG export pause and advancing nuclear tech signal a shift toward energy security. ? AI & Energy – The rapid rise of AI will drive massive electricity demand. An exciting moment for energy innovation and progress! Stay tuned for more insights from CERAWeek. ?? #CERAWeek #EnergyInnovation #EnergyDialogues

I always look forward to CERAWeek - it’s a week filled with insights, encounters and dialogue. One of the first things I heard this morning was “the buzz this year is special”. Chris Wright the new Secretary of Energy, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) laid out his perspective on the need for more energy: - Energy Disparity: The wealthiest nations in the world use 13 barrels of oil per person per year, while for 7 billion people the consumption averages 3 barrels, and Africa uses just 1 barrel per person. - Re-industrialization: China consumes 3x more energy for manufacturing. Outsourcing increases the carbon footprint of products, and reliance on diesel-powered shipping to get the products to market. The U.S. must pivot to common sense policies and reindustrialize. - Major Energy Developments: Lifting of the LNG export pause, and support for fission, fusion, and next-gen #geothermal signal a #nuclear renaissance and a push for secure, reliable, and affordable energy. - #AI & Energy: Intelligence production demands massive energy - the more energy, the more intelligence AI can generate. Rapid #electricity demand growth is ahead. - Secretary Wright emphasized how this is an exciting moment for human progress - if we unleash the human spirit through energy innovation. Great way to kick off the morning of day 1! #ceraweek #jointhedialogue #energypragmatism #energy #energyfuture

Two weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Carbon Solutions Forum as part of the student cohort, engaging in meaningful discussions alongside industry leaders, experts, and fellow students about the future of low-carbon energy. The forum explored key challenges and opportunities in decarbonization, from policy and market trends to cutting-edge innovations in emissions management. Conversations around CCS/CCUS, carbon markets, and cross-industry collaboration highlighted the importance of integrating sustainable solutions into operations. It was inspiring to see how advancements in data collection, AI-driven monitoring, and predictive analytics are improving transparency and helping energy companies meet sustainability goals. Being part of the student cohort alongside Yulman Pérez Swastik Jha Maureen James and Eric De Haas made the experience even more enriching. Engaging with both seasoned professionals and fellow students provided fresh perspectives on how we, as the next generation, can contribute to real-world carbon solutions. ?? A huge thank you to Kate Norman , Norris Wright, Adam Waterson, and the Constellation team for making this experience possible, and to Monika Sim?es, Bena Leslie , and the Energy Dialogues, Inc. team for organizing such a phenomenal event. Scott Tinker's talks are always insightful as a reality check, and to provide balance and clarity to the critical issues we face as we navigate pathways toward a lower-emissions future. Scott reminds us of the stark contrast between those who have reliable energy and those who don't, and how #energy access directly impacts daily life. "Energy won't end poverty, but we can't end poverty without energy." How does energy shape our world, and what will it take to #power the future? Producing more energy while lowering emissions is not an easy task, we know that of course, but lifting people out of poverty is key. If you have 15 minutes to spare, I'd highly recommend watching Scott W. Tinker, PhD's and Switch Energy Alliance presentation as he explores the link between energy, economic growth, and human flourishing, highlighting the challenges of lifting billions out of energy poverty. Fun fact (I hadn't heard this one before): Dung is denser than batteries! #moreenergylessemissions #pragmaticdialogue #energysolutions #jointhedialogue #energypoverty
