Thank you to our member and friends at PPL Electric Utilities for supporting the communities in the path of Hurricane #Milton.
A group of more than 20 PPL Electric lineworkers and support staff departed Allentown this morning for Florida to assist Florida Power & Light in restoration efforts expected from Hurricane #Milton. They’ll join another group of PPL Electric lineworkers and contractors that have been helping to restore power to residents in Georgia impacted by Hurricane #Helene. Together, more than 80 workers are set to help Florida residents. Whether it’s in our own backyard or across state lines, when there are people in the dark, we’re committed to doing what it takes to get the lights back on. Situations like these are about more than poles, wires and transformers. They are about the lives behind every switch that gets flipped. At PPL Electric, keeping the lights on isn’t just part of our job, it’s our mission and our way of making a difference where it matters most. Our crews often are called upon to help restore power in other regions as part of a mutual assistance agreement. When releasing employees for assistance, we always take into consideration our customers’ needs and ensure we have plenty of resources available for maintenance work and emergency situations, should they arise. To everyone in the path of this hurricane, stay safe, take precautions and know that we’re thinking of you during this challenging time. #CommunitySupport #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors #LineworkerHeroes #PoweringLives

Thank you to the PPL Electric Utilities team for activating quickly to help those without power due to hurricane.
And... they're off! We are sending 60 of our lineworkers, along with 80 contractor lineworkers to Georgia to help the Georgia Power Company prepare for restoration efforts from the impacts of Hurricane Helene. Our crews, which also include drone assessment and management resources, will be arriving this afternoon. Before offering these resources, we evaluated our own customer needs. We don't anticipate any major outages from this week's rain, but we are staffed and prepared to respond across our territory if conditions change. Our thoughts are with all those in the south currently affected by powerful Helene, and we wish for everyone's safety.
