Welcome to #Bremen! Starting today, a delegation from the USA and Canada is visiting Northern Germany on the subject of #Hydrogen. First stop: Bremen and ENGINIUS GmbH! Interest in hydrogen technologies is growing worldwide and international exchange is more important than ever in this young industry. We are all the more pleased that we can act as a joint North German location and showcase our strengths together. To this end, the North German economic development agencies have joined forces in the HY-5 initiative, through which this trip was also realized. The first stop today was ENGINIUS: the commercial vehicle manufacturer has already equipped around 200 vehicles with hydrogen drives in its Bremen workshops. In total, these have clocked up more than 1.6 million kilometers - impressive! Many thanks also to Thorsten Baumeister for the exciting factory tour! The delegation continued on to Bremerhaven to visit ttz Bremerhaven, the LUNEDELTA business park of BIS Bremerhavener Gesellschaft für Investitionsf?rderung und Stadtentwicklung mbH and Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. In the coming days, the program will include visits to Bremerv?rde, Brunsbüttel, Cuxhaven, Hamburg and Rostock. NREL is thrilled to launch the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Electricity’s Community Microgrid Assistance Partnership (C-MAP) focused on electrically isolated and underserved communities in Alaska, Hawaii, and Tribal lands in the Great Plains and Southwest. With C-MAP, you can plan a resilient microgrid system, make improvements on an existing system, build workforce capacity, or add renewable energy. This program will build a knowledge network around microgrid development and innovation in rural communities and deploy technology solutions that can be replicated nationwide.
