Each time we wrap up a big national event like the NCSEA Summit, we make it our goal to partner with a local organization that's making a difference in the community. I wanted to say a huge Thank You from the ENERCALC team to Jelaila Gonzalez and REFUGE FOR WOMEN, INC / Refuge for Women Las Vegas for graciously accepting the TV screens from our booth setup last week. Rather than trying to freight our TVs around from show to show, we prefer to donate them to a local group that is doing great work, and Refuge for Women definitely fits the bill. If you're not familiar, Refuge for Women is a national non-profit focused on providing safe housing and recovery for women who have escaped human trafficking and exploitation: https://lnkd.in/gQedGmh4 It was a huge help for us to have Jelaila come pick up our gear from the conference center, and it's our hope that the TVs will be a blessing and help to this great organization!! How it started…How it’s going— Compass Commons under construction; New Riverside, SC Two retail buildings for this growing community. Wood framed construction Steel beams at center for span Wood brackets to break up the exterior. The brackets are important on buildings of this size to break them up and give it that Lowcountry feel. We collaborated quite a bit with Alejandro Silva on the bracket design. Thanks to A101 for the opportunity. Construction by Fraser Construction Design and calculations by myself and HARSHIL DEVANI with 29E6. All done with our Keysheet method and using mostly ENERCALC for gravity calculations. Lateral design done with our in house LatCalc spreadsheet. Drawings done by Desai Jigna with 29E6 in Revit

Day 2 at NCSEA was another awesome one!! It was great to reconnect with friends, colleagues, and ENERCALC customers from across the US. Stay tuned next week for some teasers and announcements about cool new features we debuted during our hands-on demos in Vegas! ?? I also had the chance to catch a few sessions at the conference, including a fantastic earthquake engineering presentation by Tunc Deniz Uludag of the Seismic Design Sub-Committee. Training sessions continue today, but I'm catching a red-eye back to the family. Now let's see if I can sleep on the plane... ?? ?? #structuralengineering #structuralanalysis #structuraldesign

I am in Las Vegas, NV this week attending the NCSEA Structural Engineering Summit, hosted by the MGM. It’s already been a fascinating and insightful conference, with much emphasis on how AI can be used to augment our daily work as structural engineers. Aside from the lectures, vendors are here showcasing their products. Three of them I want to highlight are Simpson Strong-Tie, Quick Tie Products, Inc., and ENERCALC. I utilize products from all three of these companies in my design work and their products are reliable and easy to utilize. ENERCALC has a LEGO set at their booth, which definitely sets them apart from their competitors in my mind as a LEGO nerd. I highly recommend check out this conference in the future and utilizing the three companie’s products I highlighted above to improve your designs. #structures #buildings #bridges #structuralengineering
