One of the reasons I personally look forward to the #AISC #steel conference is because ENERCALC often releases AWESOME software updates right before the conference. ?? I mentioned recently that we'll be heading to Kentucky next week for #NASCC25. What I didn't mention is some of the incredible new features that #structuralengineers now have access to in our latest update. The update has way too many cool features to adequately cover in a single post, so just I'm going to highlight my favorite one today. If #ENERCALC is your daily driver for analysis and design of individual structural components, then you're likely aware that in 2024 we deployed a new behavior called "Load Linking". This feature allows our users to seamlessly link reaction force results from one calculation onto another calculation as applied loads. The latest installment in our growing list of Load Linked modules is Steel Column!! As of Monday (build number "20.25.03.24"), ENERCALC users can now quickly and intuitively move reaction forces from both wood and steel beams and girders directly onto a steel column calculation. The linking interface provides powerful, intuitive controls to set eccentricity, location, and quantity of the interconnected loads on the fly with zero hassle and zero manual transcription. Congrats to Nathan Cole, P.E. with Connect Structural Engineering, Inc. for winning ENERCALC's Retaining Wall LEGO Sculpture which is a functional bookend that can hold 3 Steel Manuals. The sculpture was custom designed and built by our in-house structural engineer and LEGO enthusiast Seth Roswurm, PE, SE.
