We honor Sergeant Juliana Baker at Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and Investigator Ruben Martinez at Riverside County Sheriff's Office as Game Changers who spark new ways of doing things in their communities, so victims of gender-based violence receive compassionate and effective services, and so perpetrators are held accountable. #GameChangers #LEO #TraumaInformedPolicing

关于我们
End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI) inspires and educates those who respond to gender-based violence, by equipping them with the knowledge and tools they need to support victims and hold perpetrators accountable. We promote victim-centered, multidisciplinary collaboration, which strengthens the response of the criminal justice system, other professionals, allies, and the general public — making communities safer. We Work to Achieve our Mission by: * Formulating policies and best practices to guide reforms * Hosting live and online training programs for professionals * Providing technical assistance and expert consultation * Developing and disseminating resource materials * Educating policymakers, media representatives, and the public * Conducting and translating research for practitioners * Promoting multidisciplinary collaboration * Partnering with organizations that share our vision What We Aim to Accomplish: Working with professionals inside and outside the criminal justice system, we seek to improve outcomes for victims and pursue accountability for their assailants. Our goal is to protect victims, prevent future attacks, and keep our communities safe. We envision a world where gender-based violence is unacceptable on every level – where victims receive the compassion, support and justice they deserve. When we create a system that helps victims not only to heal, but to thrive, they will transform our world with strength, hope, and joy.

For survivors of sexual assault, seeking formal support is not always an easy task. We believe that everyone, everywhere has the duty to #StartByBelieving. The initial response a survivor receives can greatly impact whether they choose to disclose to anyone else or move forward with the criminal justice system. End Violence Against Women International is dedicated to ensuring that survivors receive compassionate and trauma-informed support from the very first moment they speak to law enforcement, a medical provider, or an advocate. This #GivingTuesday, YOU can provide the essential training to ensure that every professional who interacts with a survivor understands trauma and provides unwavering support. Your impact will go twice as far -- every dollar up to $4,000 will be matched. Will you stand with survivors and double your impact today? ?? Non-fatal strangulation (NFS) can result in serious physical injuries and psychological harm. It’s also an indicator for future escalated violence. Knowing how to recognize the signs and how to treat NFS in sexual assault and domestic violence is crucial to effective medical forensic patient care. Join our special EVAWI Members-Only case-study discussion as we delve into critical aspects of NFS: https://ow.ly/rj1Z50U2oGY Led by national forensic nursing experts, this event is built for medical providers, but all EVAWI Professional Members are welcome to participate.
