Boy we sure like what Jalonni Weaver is preaching! She's definitely one of the good ones. Make sure she (and those that operate like her) get a great rating at endofinterview.com
I had a candidate who lost their job last week and told me that they knew it was coming but they started applying for jobs before they were laid off. I interviewed them and sent them over for a second interview on the same day with the hiring team. They interviewed and got an offer that same day. The hiring process doesn't have to be drawn out or complicated. It doesn't have to be 4-5 interviews unless it's an executive role, leadership, or technical/complex roles to make sure the candidate(s) are the "right" fit & even then it should be a streamlined process. But if the role is "entry" or "mid-level" there is no need for more than 3 rounds of interviews. (This is just my opinion.) There is no reason to keep candidates waiting to hear back. If you like a candidate THAT IS QUALIFIED FOR THE ROLE, make them an offer. Don't keep candidates waiting.

Let's do some fun math on what effect NOT communicating well with candidates has: Imagine This: 1. A company posts a job, and 100 eager candidates send in their résumés. 2. The hiring team sorts through the stack, plucking out 10 contenders they deem worthy of an interview. ?? ?? ?? 3. But then... the company’s HR or recruiter suddenly disappears, mysteriously ghosting 9 of them. ?? ?? Now you’ve got: 1. 99 people without the job (including the unlucky finalists), and... 2. 9 candidates who were qualified enough to consider but NOT hired who now associate the company’s name with a bad Tinder date. ?? Here’s the irony: the Human Resources department—the group in charge of making the company seem like an attractive, friendly place to work—is actually out here undermining the brand. ??? The very people who are supposed to sell the culture are sometimes the first to scare talent away! If you want to see the math behind how a recruitment process can be rated, submit or checkout a review on EndOfInterview.com

Shoutout to Eric Okunevich for this insight: Apparently, two-thirds of people would rather do their taxes twice than reapply to a company that ghosted them. If you get ghosted, report it anonymously, without registration, on EndOfInterview.com https://lnkd.in/edNjAfeV
I see a lot of people commenting about being ghosted during your job search. Wondering if there are any consequences for this type of behavior.

Check out this great post from Kristen Zavo...96% of candidates have been ghosted! In an age when companies are interviewing people with AI-bots, you mean to tell us that they can't send candidates a simple note giving them closure? If you've been ghosted, register and review your HR recruiter on End of Interview.com. https://lnkd.in/eVxNXMYt

Have you ever experienced ghosting in job search — either as the candidate or employer? Or maybe both? "Ghosting" has become all too common of a practice in today's modern world, and not just during the job search process. Have you experienced this? Is it ever appropriate? Let me know your thoughts in the poll below. p.s. Stay tuned for tomorrow when I'll be sharing why that happens to even the best candidates, as well as what you can do about it.

To those interviewing: repost if you're sick of being ghosted, gutted, and gaslit. Job hunting feels like a full-time gig—minus the paycheck. ?? You spend hours perfecting your resume, crafting that heartwarming cover letter ??, and researching every little detail about the company, only to realize the job may not even exist! It's just a PR stunt to keep shareholders happy. And if after copying and pasting your resume into dozens of online forms you actually manage to land an interview, the HR person shows up completely unprepared—like they missed the memo that they’re supposed to know something too! ?? And the cherry on top? ?? Afterwards they ghost you like a bad Tinder date! It makes you wonder if skipping lunch, using vacation days, and dodging your boss’s radar was all just a colossal waste of time. Because those that interview don’t necessarily get hired, the damage induced by poor recruiting practices continues, unchecked. That’s where we come in. We help you avoid the hiring black holes. On EndOfInterview.com you can 100% anonymously rate (or look up ratings) for HR/recruiting professionals and companies. Visit EndOfInterview.com to praise (or shame) a company or recruiter today.
