America’s electricity demand is growing again and U.S. businesses are turning to solar.? ? According to SEIA’s 2024 #SolarMeansBiz report, American companies have installed nearly 40 GW of onsite and off-site #solar.? ? Why? Because it’s good for their bottom line.? ? The flexibility and dispatchability of #solar + #storage make it ideal for a wide range of commercial applications and, at the end of the day, solar is the most cost-effective way to produce energy in human history.? ? SEIA President and CEO?Abby Hopper writes:? ? “Some of the largest industrial and data operations in the world continue turning to solar and storage as a reliable, low-cost way to power their operations. These industry giants are investing in solar through a diverse range of applications, including onsite and off-site installations, on carports, paired with storage, or even as an anchor tenant for a community solar project.”? ? Check out the Solar Energy Industries Association's?2024 #SolarMeansBiz report for more on why U.S. businesses investing in solar at record levels:? https://lnkd.in/esP8f3Ym?

The clean energy transition is good for the planet, good for business, and makes the #grid more resilient. ?? A new study published in Nature Energy Journal shows that grids powered by #renewables are less vulnerable to blackouts, even during extreme weather. Renewables are not only the cheapest but the most reliable source of energy production currently on the market.
People fear renewable power grids are more prone to blackouts. The data say otherwise.

Every year we participate in Vermont Works for Women's annual Women Can Do! Expo, which showcases the wide array of technical career possibilities available to historically marginalized genders. Last month, Encore team members spent the day demystifying some of the magic of #solar energy. Each time we go, we are impressed and inspired by the next generation of women in the trades.

The Encore office will be closed tomorrow to allow our employees the time and flexibility to cast their ballots and volunteer in the democratic process. We believe no one should have to choose between a paycheck and performing their civic duty, which is why we're a member of the?Time to Vote?initiative (maketimetovote.org). The clean energy transition is driven by policy: #votesolar tomorrow for ours and future generations.

Our team had a great time at GridTECH Connect Forum Northeast this week, with Chief Commercial Officer Jesse Stowell and VP of Policy and Communications Lauren Glickman taking the stage to share their expertise about community solar and storage and pathways to meeting our clean energy goals. There's a great deal of work to be done update our aging grid; events like these remind us of the incredible knowledge and passion driving the clean energy transition and making this work possible.

We're only one week away from the election! One of the best things you can do to support the clean energy transition is stay actively engaged in our democracy. Now is a critical time to make sure you have a voting plan in place and are educated about the races and candidates affecting your community. Visit vote.org to solidify your plan for next Tuesday.

With multiple Middlebury College alum's on the Encore team, we know the passion and principles of their student body. For years, Middlebury students advocated for their campus to be powered by local renewable energy. Yesterday, we celebrated the full energization of South Street Solar, a 5MW step forward for the university to meet its clean energy goals! Learn more about South Street Solar: https://lnkd.in/gZqzRxVz
Today we celebrated Middlebury's newest solar array becoming fully energized with partners Encore Renewable Energy and Greenbacker. The five-megawatt array will provide 40 percent of the College's electricity. This partnership allows the College to retain renewable energy credits and moves us closer to meeting our Energy2028 goal, which calls for the use of 100 percent renewable energy by 2028.
