Adulting can be hard... But adulting with friends, facilitated support, and with engaging instruction? Now that's just plum fun!
Our crew worked hard at Adulting 101 last night! They finished up their topic of "Laundry" and absolutely nailed it. Now it's off to "Basic Cooking Skills", as voted on by the group. We love EML Plus! Sign up for our newsletter to be kept in the loop as we open up spots! https://lnkd.in/garAjv78

We concluded the survey portion of our Housing Market Analysis on January 31, 2025. But we're not finished! So what's next? Together with First Place Global Leadership Institute, we are analyzing the data and responses. We'll be hosting a leadership workshop to discuss the findings and collaborate on solutions in March. We want to invite the business and real estate communities to participate alongside local governments and our supporters and partner organizations in the I/DD community - DM us if you are interested. The survey results and recommendations from the workshop will be developed into a comprehensive report that will be available for distribution sometime in the early summer. We are looking forward to turning dreams into a reality through this work, thanks to the support of Greater Cincinnati Foundation, St. Joseph Home of Cincinnati, Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries, Metzcor, McGill Smith Punshon, Inc., Robert Louis Group, Kendall Building Group, Ackermann Group, The Robert H. Friedman Memorial Foundation, The Kline Family, Leslie Aberlin, The Hemler Family. As well as collaborative partnerships to help promote the project with Autism Connections, Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati, TruCare Provider Services, Timothy Freeman MD Center for DD, University of Cincinnati IDD Education Center, RAAC, Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services, @Inspiring Purpose Day Program, Maine Champion Coaching LLC, Amanda Tipkemper, Sadie Everett, and Inclusive Housing Resources.

We partnered with First Place Global Leadership Institute on the Greater Cincinnati Housing Market Analysis because we believe more voices will lead to more choices in housing and supports for adults with I/DD. The housing survey portion of the analysis will close on January 31, 2025 - be sure to take the time to share your housing and support preferences before then. Two ways to take the survey - see our website for more information: https://lnkd.in/ghhkxXvg 1. Join us at a Watch Party to learn more about housing options and take the survey together in-person or virtually on January 28 from 7 -9 PM OR virtually on January 29 from 12 - 1:30 PM. 2. Take it on your own time. Watch the educational presentation and take the survey. We are so grateful to the partners involved in this work from funding, to spreading the word, to hosting watch parties and more: Greater Cincinnati Foundation, St. Joseph Home of Cincinnati, Metzcor, Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries, McGill Smith Punshon, Inc., Robert Louis Group, Kendall Building Group, Ackermann Group, The Robert H. Friedman Memorial Foundation, The Kline Family, Leslie Aberlin, The Hemler Family, Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati, TruCare Provider Services, Inspiring Purpose Day Program, Autism Connections, Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services, Clermont County Developmental Disabilities, Amanda Tipkemper, Alycia Champion, Janet Maine, Hamilton County ESC, Stepping Stones, Mike Moroski, Human Services Chamber of Hamilton County, Gina Gehm, self-advocates and families, and many more (if we left you off, apologies, the "get-off-the-stage" music is playing).

Congratulations to our co-founder, Mark J. Kendall!
Living up to my namesake as Co-founder of EmpowerMe Living, Kendall Building Group and Industrious Marketing. Author of "Let it Flow." Writer of "The Letdown" on Substack.
Today, Mark J. Kendall was sworn in to the board of Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services. He will bring his talents as a skilled project management and operations professional to the team, as well as his character strengths - patience, fairness, prudence, honesty, creativity, good judgment, and bravery (to name a few!). Mark is an example of someone who has faced great adversity in his life standing up, head unbowed. He will bring his many strengths and lived experience to make an excellent advocate and leader to serve individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in our county. To say I am proud to stand by him as my husband and business partner is an understatement. Congratulations, Mark! Thank you to the Honorable Ralph Edward Winkler and his team, Sam Klever M.Ed, Marcus L. Thompson, and Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services for their support.
